Job Title:
General Accountant
Job Summary:
The General Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, prepare financial reports, maintain general ledger accounts, and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with company policies and relevant financial standards. This role supports financial decision-making by ensuring reliable data and compliance with accounting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
Record daily financial transactions, such as sales, expenses, and payroll.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Assist in preparing management reports, budget forecasts, and variance analysis.
Reconciliation and Analysis:
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other accounts.
Analyze financial discrepancies and resolve any discrepancies through corrective actions.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage and process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Review vendor statements and handle any issues related to billing and collections.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Monitor actual financial performance versus budget and provide variance analysis.
Audit Preparation:
Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal accounting regulations.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Maintain records for VAT, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient accounting workflows.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
Certification: CPA certification is a plus
Key Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant local regulations.
