To assist in recording and compiling financial information, preparing financial paperwork, assisting with financial manager, review & maintaining records. A General Accountant will also be required to perform general administrative tasks.
To be successful as General Accountant, you should be familiar with accounting standards and have a firm grasp of basic & complex accounting principles and practices. A General Accountant should be well-organized, have an aptitude for numbers, and be able to work under pressure.
Job Roles & Responsibilities
Ensures accounting records are filed accordingly
Maintains general ledgers, recording the status of various accounts and make sure all accounts are balanced
Check and verify all source documents such as invoices, receipts, purchase orders etc.
Performing reconciliation of general ledger accounts
Accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual tax returns
Ensure that company taxes are paid in a timely manner.
Ensure the accuracy of the financial information
Assist in the preparation of special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information. Assist finance and accounting department in preparing budgets and forecasts
Liaise with and assist external auditor in respect of annual statements and related matter
Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
Comply & implement best practices, standards and procedures in all accounting functions and activities.
Perform other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
At least 4-5 years of accounting experience.
Preferably CPA but not required
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and accounting software.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Adaptability and flexibility to rapidly changing environment
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Good teamwork and collaboration skills
Good documentation skills
