Business Need/Purpose of role
GBS - Finance roles only - The Global Business Shared Services (GBS) team is in Irving Texas with an extension office in Manila Philippines. The GBS office Serves North America, Australia, Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa for accounting services such as General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions. GBS supports the ESCO and Minerals divisions of Weir.
The Global Business Support (GBS) Manager is responsible for managing the GBS day to day operations and strategic direction. They will lead a team responsible for partnering with all functions to standardize, simplify and automate processes.
The role is based in Pasig City, Manila.
The successful candidate will have proven ability to:
Organize and ensure timely and accurate delivery of services across the GBS service portfolio
Lead day-to-day interactions with stakeholders and team leads to help resolve any trending issues
Develop and monitor service level metrics and reporting to measure the success of initiatives and help resolve issues locally prior to escalation.
Build and lead cross-functional project teams to execute on the initiatives and coordinate the planning, prioritization, design, development and deployment of new initiatives and system enhancements
Leverage business knowledge and expertise to analyze the business process cycles, metrics and key performance indicators to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and controls through process redesign and automation.
Work with business leaders across Finance, Engineering, IT and Marketing to understand ESCO's business, GBS service portfolio, technology, operational processes, internal controls and reporting requirements.
Work with stakeholders to develop and prioritize process and system enhancements to capitalize on the opportunities and influence senior stakeholders to sponsor the proposals based on the department's recommendations.
Provide counseling/coaching, leadership and support for team leads and select staff
Actively participate in late stages of staff recruitment. Lead retention activities providing input and guidance into the staffing process
Able to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of a Manager, while possessing differentiated level of experience, leadership, and responsibility.
Develops skills and capability of more junior managers and staff, with greater levels of organizational impact.
Partners with leaders of various ESCO functions, participating in strategy and goal setting for the function or the organization
Evaluates and implements process improvements to increase overall efficiency and effectiveness of processes
About you:
Requires related bachelor's degree - Accounting, Finance (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of Management experience, and depth and breadth of expertise in own discipline.
Prior experience in managing a GBS site (mandatory)
Ability to provides strong, effective, and collaborative leadership of a larger and/or more complex team
Independently provides leadership to team to ensure successful completion of work
Willing to be on site regularly
Fluent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English, other languages are highly preferred (e.g. Spanish)
Willingness to work in a global environment and be flexible with working hours
