Manulife Core Engineering and Transformation is seeking a self-motivated Full-Stack Software Engineer (Angular/JAVA), who is obsessed with delivering value, is forward-thinking, and excited to see the successfulimplementationof the products they deliver. They will have experience in designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving application APIs as a member of a team, works across key data, orchestration, rules and transactional stacks through the entire application and system development life cycle.

We are looking for someone with:
Experience in Frontend and Backend technologies such asHTML, CSS3, JavaScript, Typescript, Node, Angular 2+, React and Java
Experience in working with Database such asMongoDB and SQL
Experience in Framework and API / Service Layer such asSprin g Boot(Rest Template, Feign Client, Zuul, Sleuth/Zipkin, Hystrix and Maven),Swagger,Node/Express.
Familiar withNewRelicandKibana.
Good Foundation in Test Driven Technologies such asJasmine, JEST, Mocha, Junit, Mockito (Java)
Good Foundation in CSS Best practices and Framework likeMaterial UI, BEM, SMACSS, CSS Flex-box, CSS Grid
Awareness and adherence to best practices of web standards, testing, and coding for accessibility (ARIA, WCAG)
Good Foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO Design with rock-solid programming skills
Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
Understanding of software development lifecycle
Understanding of how technology supports Manulife business strategy
Occasionally participates in demos utilizing new tech. control guidelines required
Familiar with modern software architectures and API-driven development
Familiar with technologies such as: API Gateways, Messaging, Data Event Streaming, REST, SOAP, Distributed Tracing, Relational and Document Database Interface/SQL
Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods
Works together in a small team with a common purpose, follows rules from team members
Nice to Haves:
Exposure to PaaS and micro-service architectures
Exposure to and understanding of Agile scrum methodologies and experience of working in an Agile team
Experienced in grasping and explaining high level solution architecture
Exposure to and basic understanding of collaboration tools like JIRA
Knowledge in SonarQube, Fortify and WebInspect
