Job Description
Overview:
The Full Stack Engineer will be part of the client's Development team and will be given the opportunity to work both in the Strategic Development and Product Support streams.
The Full Stack Engineer will work across both the back end and the front-end of our applications and will be collaborating with other full-stack, back-end, and front-end engineers.
·The Full Stack Engineer will write top notch code for greenfield/brownfield projects and for new features to existing applications. She/he will also undertake software design, refactoring of existing code, peer code review, developer testing and certain DevOps tasks.
The key focus will be working with the team to build and deliver modern, robust, and secure software platforms for our customers.
The Full Stack Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager and will work closely with the Chief Technology &; Innovation Officer along with the broader Development team, and Product and QA teams.
Responsibilities:
Implementing new features and feature enhancements to existing applications
Building greenfield applications covering both frontend and backend
Designing and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs for our products
Undertaking and supporting User Interface Modernization tasks
Writing quality, clean, well-documented and maintainable code, including unit and integration tests
Carrying out research and development whenever needed, developing prototypes and making recommendations to the development leadership team
Producing practical and robust solutions for the requirements along with the architects and leads
Designing (or re-designing) optimal DB schemata
Supporting the existing products
Undertaking certain DevOps tasks, including automating them
Contribute to the planning and scoping of projects and solutions through our Agile processes
Being the technological bridge between the back end and front-end teams
Collaborating closely with the broader team, especially with Product Support, QA and Product teams
Maintaining clear and concise communication with the Engineering Manager, CITO, and the development leadership team
Requirements
Qualifications:
At least 2-3 years solid JAVA software development experience
Proficient knowledge of back-end programming frameworks in Java such as Spring Boot and Hibernate
Proficient knowledge of front-end programming languages, frameworks and libraries and tools
Experience with core front end technologies: JSP and similar templating languages, HTML5, CSS/SASS, JavaScript/jQuery, AJAX, and JSON
Experience with some or all of React / Redux, TypeScript or server-side Kotlin as a bonus.
Experience in the delivery of web-based APIs (REST and GraphQL)
Experience working with large, multi-tenant web and/or SaaS applications.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
Good understanding of the full software development lifecycle
Experience working in an agile environment.

Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver objectives on time.
Ability to spread across multiple projects and to meet competing deadlines.
