To contribute to the improvement of live-saving and urgent humanitarian needs of the returning internally displaced population affected by Bagyong Rolly.
Food Security and Livelihoods department prioritises interventions that save lives while preserving and restoring the food security and livelihoods of affected populations. Programmes contribute to the protection of populations by advocating and promoting, International and National policies that promote equity and socio-economic development
Food Security and Livelihood interventions allow populations to live in dignity, without dependence on external assistance. Interventions are founded on the fact that the right to nutritious food is a basic human right.
Food Security and Livelihood interventions aim to integrate the concept of food sovereignty: "the right of people to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and Agricultural systems.
Do you meet the profile required criteria?
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Business Management/Administration, and Community Development or any related field.
Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge and experience in community organizing, food distribution, and implementing of cash-based intervention projects.
Knowledge of Humanitarian Accountability Partnership and Cash Learning standards is an advantage.
Familiarity with the local culture, ability to develop respect from a wide range of people and strong ability to communicate effectively.
Knowledge and experience in capacity building, information management and reporting
Previous experience/s:
At least 2 - 3 years of professional experience working with I/NGOs, donor-funded programs in humanitarian operation, Emergency and Early Recovery or in development projects doing Food Security and/or livelihood Programming.
Demonstrated experience with participatory approaches to development including capacity building of local institutions.
Experience in conducting and supervising field assessments, monitoring, surveys and FGDs.
Practical experience in cash-based programming is an advantage.
Knowledgeable on Sphere Minimum Standards.
Previous experience working with and alongside governmental structures and local/international partners
Has experience working in an emergency response (conflict setting desirable).
IT Systems:
Required expertise in Windows Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of Sphinx Software and Open Data Kit (ODK) is desirable or other similar software.
Excellent English and Filipino language. Speaking the Bicol dialect is an advantage.
Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.
