Overall Position Objectives
Working with the Project Manager, you will be spearheading new website development on the Shopify platform while collaborating with the development team to innovate and discover new solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain new sites, pages, templates and features for internal and client needs. To do this, you will need to understand requirements, translate requirements and mockups into fully functioning websites using HTML/CSS/JS, and write and maintain consistent, clean, and readable code.
Take ownership of all front-end development and Shopify configurations for multiple storefronts.
Take complete ownership of the project including accurately estimating project timelines, committing to deadlines, delivering to specification, and ensuring clear and honest communication with the rest of the team and management in Australia.
Provide insight and recommendations in order to increase performance & conversion, as well as decreasing & continually optimising page load times.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
At least 5 years of experience in developing and launching sites on Shopify and able to code a theme from scratch
Demonstrable expertise with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Liquid
Experienced in building custom websites, themes, plugins with Shopify along with API integration
Knowledgeable in Shopify responsive design and development
Worked with API and custom applications/plugins
Strong attention to detail (visual consistency, browser testing, validation, load times)
Experience in using Asana and Slack is a plus Skills
Strong organisation skills to manage multiple projects and internal requests, etc.
Able to prioritise your own tasks and dependencies.
Ability to communicate well, giving proactive feedback to peers, team, and manager.
Strong level of integrity, autonomy and self-motivation.
Rigorously educate yourself on the latest development techniques and best practices.
