Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for performing quantity and quality inspection or verification of various products and goods in accordance with company standards, legal and client requirements.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures all the necessary forms, materials, equipment, and/or other requirements needed to perform the job are complete and prepared before proceeding to the work site.
Coordinates with clients on schedules and other information pertinent to the job.
Conducts inspection or verification work (reference: Verification Matrix of Inspection Work) according to company standard, procedures and client requirements or agreed job scope and specifications.
Provides feedback and updates on the status or progress of the job to his/her immediate superior on a regular basis.
Prepares and submits complete and accurate inspection reports including properly labeled samples.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned either in support of departmental goal or for his/her personal or professional training, education or development as programmed by his/her immediate superior.
Complies with the QHSE policies including but not limited to:
Demonstrate strong commitment to SGS QHSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to QHSE.
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.
In accordance with the SGS QHSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.
Reports all incidents (actual incidents and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.
Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to supervisor.
Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.
Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to supervisor, QHSE Representatives or relevant client / site contact.
Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.
Qualifications
College graduate (Food Technology, Biology, Chemical Engineer or any science related course).
Strong background in Food Safety (preferably has undergone GMP and HACCP training)
At least 2 years work experince in the food manufacturing or food service industry
Experience/Technical Knowledge * Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
Has proficient writing skills
Has good keyboard skills - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.
Language * Proficient in English & Filipino (both written and verbal).
Additional Information
Applicant must be willing to travel nationwide for any Inspection/Audit assignments
