About the Role
We are looking for a Junior and Senior Fluid Power & Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible with:
Design and engineering of fluid power / handling / transfer, hydraulic control, and chemical injection systems, equipment, and associated mechanical and structural components
Modelling, simulation and analysis of fluid power / handling / transfer, hydraulic control, and chemical injection systems and equipment
Review design details and liaise with team to improve safety, maintainability and reduce cost where possible
Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential fluid power engineering projects and studies
Estimates and Proposals development and production, including coordination of materials, services and cost inputs from and relationships with suppliers
Project delivery scheduling, coordination, and support
Provide technical support to field-based staff
Client liaison and engagement in Australia, the Philippines, and regionally as required
Senior: Supervise, structure and coordinate and review work outputs, train and upskill, and support personnel for the business
Qualifications
Bachelor's of Fluid Power / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering
Experience & Skillset
3+ years of experience in the design and engineering of fluid power / handling / transfer, hydraulic control, and chemical injection systems, equipment, and associated mechanical and structural components
Demonstrated experience in developing, designing, and engineering fluid power / handling / transfer, hydraulic control, and chemical injection systems, equipment for the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical, Mining & Mineral Processing, Chemical Processing, and/or Industrial market sectors
Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering and fluid power principles and practices
Proficient in design, engineering and calculation software
Advantageous Skills / Experience
Skills / expertise in networking and industrial communications (CISCO, Microsoft certifications), programming and project delivery
Cyber security experience in firewalls (functionality and implementation), identifying network and system vulnerabilities and other relevant capabilities
Ability to design hydraulic and pneumatic based sub systems highly regarded
Responsibilities
As listed under About the role, plus:
Analytical and troubleshooting for above disciplines
Fluid Power (hydraulics, pneumatics) specialisation
Analyse technical specifications; apply an understanding and application of relevant standards, codes and guidelines; and create detailed fluid power / handling / transfer, hydraulic control, and chemical injection systems, equipment designs, bill of materials, and job estimates and proposals
Drafting of hydraulic circuits and P&IDs using AutoCAD 2D software
3D Modelling and design of components, assemblies, structures & systems using Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks 3D CAD software
Generate accurate and detailed drawings for review and manufacturing
Develop bill of materials and manufacturing drawings
Project Proposal, Estimation, and Coordination
Scope of work and project framing
Estimate structuring, inputs review and supervision, scenarios coordination, and recommendation
Materials/equipment specifications and cost database in Xero
Estimates, including option scenarios as instructed
Supplier engagement, relationship management, and RFQ coordination
Procurement planning, coordination, and expediting
Works / Project scheduling inputs review and supervision Xero Projects utilisation, record keeping, costs and progress monitoring and reporting
Project/job estimation
Proposal documentation administration
Prepare data sheets, componentry and instrumentation setting sheets, material schedules, component sourcing, technical reports and operator manuals
Identify, assess and manage/mitigate risk in a proactive manner to successfully deliver tasks within required budget, time and safety guideline
Fully document systems / equipment developed to suit complete asset life cycle services
Provide technical support to the Operations Group through continuous improvement, maintenance planning requirements, troubleshooting and fault finding
Conduct Risk Management through preparation of risk assessments and HAZOP's
