Job Description
The purpose of a deboner is to remove bones from fish in an efficient and safe manner. This job role requires a precise and delicate approach, as the deboner is responsible for ensuring that all bones are removed without damaging the surrounding flesh. The deboner is also responsible for preparing the fish for further processing.
 
Deboner Role
 
Deboners work in the food industry, separating fish meat from bone. They use a range of tools to cut and trim meat, ensuring that any bone is removed. They must take care to ensure that the fish meat is not damaged, and that the cuts are precise and accurate.
Deboner Duties
 
Prepare fish for further processing
Removal of bones from fish meat
Inspection of meat fish to identify impurities and defects
Ensure food safety regulations are followed
Required Skills
Ability to work quickly and accurately, Good knife skills, ability to follow instructions, Good communication and interpersonal skills
