About the specialty/subspecialty
The FinOps team's mission is to ensure that we have an accurate and complete data set upon which to perform timely financial analysis.
We are at the core of the Finance Group, providing transactional services and financial data relied upon by the business and the wider finance team alike (encompassing general ledger, treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll).
FinOps is the largest team within Finance and continues to scale to support the business, including a Shared Services team based in Manila and local Sydney, China and Manila teams. And due to this ongoing growth and scaling, we are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to work together with the team to achieve its mission.
About the candidate
You will be working with the finance team in Manila and will be an integral part of the General Ledger team. Together with the Commercial Accountant, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness, preparation of month end reports and journal entries such as accruals and other adjustments.
In addition, you will also be involved with building the Manila Finance team's own reporting framework. You will get to prepare and analyse reports and be able to present it to different stakeholders. About your role..
General Accounting & Month End Closing
The GL accountant will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all transactions executed as part of the closing process. General accounting and month-end closing activities include:
Month-end entries such as accruals and other adjustments
Balance sheet reconciliation schedules
Flux analysis reports
Reporting
The GL Accountant will have a significant part of building the reporting framework of the Manila office and creating and maintaining the reports to ensure that accurate and timely information is readily available to different stakeholders. These reports include but are not limited to the following:
Climate Positive Schedules & Reports
Profit and Loss Analysis (Company wide and Team Specific)
CSOL (Manila Office) FS Reporting
You will be working with different teams within the Company to make sure you gather complete and accurate information to provide in-depth analysis that will be useful in the team's business decision making.
Compliance:
The GL Accountant will act as liaison between the Corporate team and Finance Manila in support of external audits and is responsible for both preparation and submission of documents as required and timely communication and resolution of issues identified during any audit.
Ad hoc activities
Maintain appropriate files, reports, documentation and data related to the above tasks.
Assist with other ad hoc transactional and reporting activities within the Manila finance team.

You are a graduate of Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
You have at least 2-3 years knowledge and experience in financial reporting.
Experience with general accounting could be an advantage
You have previous experience on building and analyzing financial reports and an extensive knowledge about financial books and statements and how they work.
You are up to date with the accounting standards that are meant to standardize the accounting practice to ensure that the financial books/statements are clear, accurate and complete.
You will be heavily involved in maintaining the financial books (especially the general ledger) on a regular basis so you would love this role if you are:
Able to record and classify financial transactions accurately
Attentive to details in making sure that books are properly reconciled and complete
Comfortable working with numbers; and
Have extensive experience in the month end closing financial process
You have working knowledge on the basics of Netsuite or any similar ERPs as well as extensive knowledge on Microsoft Excel or Spreadsheet.
You should be comfortable working in a hands on, dynamic environment and have excellent communication skills as we're a fast moving business, so change is frequent.
You are highly organised with the ability to work within set deadlines.
You have excellent written and oral communication skills as you will be working with different teams and presenting them the information you've prepared.
