Provide support to Underwriters and ensure exceptional customer service to both internal and external parties through a range of service functions as allocated. Consistently meet service levels and performance targets in terms of volume, accuracy and quality.
About the role:
Key Responsibilities
Financial:
o Meet individual underwriting expectations to help team achieve budgeted financial objectives
Business Process:
o Underwrite within agreed decision-making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority.
o Assess desirability of risk through analysis of submissions; regular contact with broker; thorough review of proposal; and review of claims history and general company information.
o Properly use the designated Underwriting system(s) to streamline underwriting and information-tracking approach across Profit Centre. Input required data consistently and accurately.
o Provide support to our broker network in relation to our D&O, Cyber and PI products.;
o Provide accurate monthly Management information including, but not limited to, submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium as required.
Customer and Sales:
o Provide excellent service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting.
o Exhibit sales orientated behaviors, defined by Management as: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.;
o Generate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.;
o Provide training to brokers on FL products as required either on one - to - one basis or as group presentation.;
o Provide support to broker by attending client meetings or providing client presentations as required.;
o Work with PCM to execute sales plan in identification of brokers and products to target.;
o Take responsibility for meeting individual new business targets set by PCM.;
o Take responsibility for individual allocation of renewals.
People:
o Liaise with Commercial Operations Team as policy and/or booking issues arise.;
o Build relationships with brokers by attending and organizing regular broker events.;
o Ensure all brokers and clients are treated fairly.;
o Ensure customer-centric approach.
Reporting/Compliance/Technical:
o Progress towards achieving minimum competency level as required and within the necessary timeframe.;
o Gain an understanding of relevant legislation, policy coverage, insurance program structures, risk management etc.;
o Conduct peer reviews as required.
o Ensure compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
What we're looking for:
Ideally, 1-2 years underwriting experience is desired; other relevant professional experience may substitute for underwriting experience
Technical Knowledge on Construction Underwriting and also Cyber Underwriting is a plus
Strong communication skills
