POSITION PURPOSE
The Commercial Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to improve the performance of existing sites and to support the development of new projects. He/ She prepares financial models and ensures that the inputs are complete, updated and accurate. He/ She is also responsible for thoroughly reviewing the commercial contracts and ensuring that the financial information used in the financial models and the commercial contracts are aligned. He/ She coordinates closely with the Operations, Technical, Legal, and Finance Team and interacts with various external stakeholders to implement growth activities projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Build and/or regularly update financial models to measure and monitor performance of existing projects and to evaluate financial viability of proposed activities and projects
2. Conduct research and obtain relevant information to support planning and execution
3. Acquire information from various sources and maintain a database compiling all raw data
4. Design and develop data reports and reporting templates for executives and end-users
5. Prepare and communicate reports and presentations in a clear and concise manner to senior management, shareholders, and third parties
6. Review, structure, and negotiate commercial agreements and assist in executing them
7. Assist in identifying and managing financial, operational, legal, and other types of business risk
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and successful implementation of projects
9. Identify commercial opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance financial performance of existing sites and/ or new projects
10. Liaise with potential investors, lenders, regulatory agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
 Business development with financial modeling
Knowledge of accounting (three statements) and basic finance (NPV, IRR) is required
 Advanced knowledge in MS Excel.
FOUNDATIONAL COMPETENCIES
Has to be proactive in driving the processes needed to reach deadlines/milestones
Can work semi-independently with minimal supervision and instruction.
 Has strong verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS
 Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCES
 With at least five years' experience in financial modelling.
