Job Description
- Perform General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues
- Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts
- Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures
- Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses to utilize when making all material business decisions
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including analyzing consolidated results, drafting SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline
- Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement
- Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements

Controllership Special Projects Analyst
A detail oriented and organized individual with the ability to execute various projects and initiatives in Controllership. Responsible for the management of multiple projects for both the Global Statutory Audit Transformation and Controllership Business Planner activities. This individual must have the ability to establish good working relationships cross-functionally/globally/with 3rd parties, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, problem solve for timely solutions, and time management/flexibility skills to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously.
Global Statutory Audit Transformation
Ensuring timely and quality execution of initiatives described on the Transformation Roadmap.
Tracking of milestones and problem solving cross-functionally and with 3rd parties to close the loop on outstanding items at weekly touchpoints.
Update and speak to the progress of the transformation journey during bi-weekly calls with the global team and leadership.
Create, present, and review bi-yearly statutory audit corporate review checklists for red flags that need to be presented to management prior to issuance/filing financial statements.
Perform data analysis on statutory audit fees and statistics year over year and present findings to leadership
Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including analyzing consolidated results, drafting SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline
Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement * Basic understanding of professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS
Business Planner Activities
Coordinate and update monthly Human Resources deck each month to reflect important and current happenings within the Controllership space.
Update monthly HRM Rotation Meeting deck each month to promote analyst presentations for upcoming rotations
Managing the CAAT SharePoint tool to connect analysts with an interest in an open role to the appropriate manager and update positions as they become available in the Controllership space.
Coordinate , All People Meetings, , and other communications.
Basic Skills and Competencies Required
Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, or equivalent experience.
CPA Preferred but not required.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships.
Advanced Microsoft office skills including: Power Point, Word and Excel skills including vlookups, pivot tables, and other formulas
Complex problem solving and analytical abilities
Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within time constraints.
Willing to take on additional responsibilities, attend training, and learn new technical skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
