As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. You will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, including preparation of financial statements, analysis of financial data, compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Job Duties:
Manage daily transactions including AP, AR, bank reconciliation, and credit cards, across multiple systems.
Raising invoices/bills to clients and managing payment terms
Maintain fixed asset register
Manage cash flow, bank facilities and payment to suppliers
Prepare BAS/IAS, Payroll Tax, and Workcover reconciliation
Process month/year-end close and prepare GL journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc
Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs in accordance with accounting policies
Assist in preparation of budgeting and forecasting
KeyExperience
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
3+ years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a corporate environment.
5 years experience with bookkeeping
CPA certification is a plus
Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience working with Australian companies, with a good understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax laws.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in accounting software - XERO and MS Excel.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
