Management of the Financial records
Managing the financial records of at least three Xero entities, each being a wholly owned part of the Third Age Health (TAG) group.
Completing a monthly consolidated set of management financial accounts. The business works to ensure that the results and financial position of the group are up to date and inline with external reporting requirements.
Monthly integrity checking of all the financial records including balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of results to budget and previous years.
Review and analysis of revenues and margins for Service revenues.
Preparation of monthly management reports for the senior management team in NZ.
External Financial Reporting
To be heavily involved in the preparation of half year and full year Financial Statements for issue to the NZX.
This includes working with consolidation models and producing statements and notes required for disclosure under NZ IFRS.
Providing assistance to the annual audit. Including the provision of information and accounting worksheets for audit purposes.
Oversight of Financial Controls
Ensure clear month end, half year and full year accounting procedures.
Keeping up to date financial policies in particular, adherence to approved authority levels, expense management etc.
Addressing auditor concerns on financial controls.
Keeping up to date written processes and policies.
Maintain essential tax accounts
Ensure all company NZ GST returns are completed on time and accurate.
Review and oversight for all NZ payroll taxes, ensure they are paid on time and properly reconciled in the accounts from the payrolls.
General oversight of the Income tax liabilities and expense transactions.
Understanding and maintaining the deferred tax accounts.
Assisting professional service consultants in preparation of annual tax returns.
Budgetary work
Assist the CFO or other NZ based finance resources with preparation and ongoing management of budgets and forecast including cash flow forecasts.
Managing the budget/forecasts models in Excel.
Company growth
Oversee and provide help to the CFO on financial aspects of onboarding new business, including any requirements for consolidations and reporting.
Ad-hoc projects
Assist the CFO with ad-hoc finance related projects.
Organised with strong time management
Ensure all deadlines are met.
Ensure financial records and other related records are properly maintained and work sheets filed and keep secure.
Any other duties as required by the CFO
Tertiary qualification in finance
Professionally CA qualified - CPA or equivalent is nice to have
3-5 years' experience, preferrably in New Zealand IFRS
Knowledge of ffinancial systems and processes, particularly with Xero.
Understanding general accepted accounting practices and International financial reporting standards that apply to NZ and in particular for an NZ listed entity.
Understand consolidations and reporting by segments or business units.
Strong analytical experience.
Intermediate/strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
