THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International will implement THE BRIDGES PROJECT: Promoting Peace through Community-based Conflict Resolution and Empowerment of Young People. This is a three-year project that seeks to strengthen local capacity targeting both state and non-state actors in Maguindanao to resolve conflict and promote peace and non-violent approaches to resolving conflict. The project will be implemented in 30 barangays in the conflict-affected municipalities labeled as the SPMS box covering Datu Unsay, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Salibo including Pagatin, Shariff Aguak, Mamasapano, and Shariff Saydona Mustapha - all in the province of Maguindanao as part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The Finance Officer provides operational support related to finance and accounting. He/ She facilitates budget monitoring, cash disbursement, records keeping, and financial report to ensure smooth implementation of the project.
Further, as the Finance Officer:
You will prepare payment vouchers through the encoding of all necessary cash account-related information in the SAP system.
You will prepare a weekly fund request based on approved Payment Requests.
You will prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports on time and weekly reconciliation of cross charges.
You will generate and prepare a weekly Budget versus Actual report, for budget monitoring reference.
You will furnish all required financial documents during audit season or as necessary.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Degree in and/or background in Accounting or Business Administration or any related course.
Has relevant training in computer operations and financial management.
At least three (3) years' work experience in accounting or business administration.
Experience or exposure to SAP financial and procurement processes is an advantage.
Previous work experience in similar projects and or organizations is an advantage.
