The Finance Manager will work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the smooth functioning of our financial operations. This role encompasses oversight of multiple departments, including accounting, purchasing and inventory, billing and cashier, and PHIC claims. The Finance Manager will not only manage day-to-day financial activities but will also assist the Finance Director to gain valuable insights into strategic decision-making and contribute to the continued success of our organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Financial Operations:
Oversee the daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Ensure that accounting records and books of accounts are kept up to date and are in accordance with CURE Philippines, Inc.'s chart of accounts.
Maintain a web-based accounting system (Xledger) for the management of CURE Philippines, Inc. expenditures and reports.
Ensure that all payments to supplies and/or projects are in accordance with relevant CURE Philippines, Inc. regulations and approved plans/budgets.
Manage monthly payroll, and ensure necessary deductions and reimbursements are processed against staff accounts.
Ensure that donor funds are received as per disbursement agreements and that expenditure by all staff is coded by unit and donor correctly.
Ensure that bank reconciliation, as well as debtors and creditors statements, are done monthly
Ensure that checkbooks, purchase order books, invoices, etc. are well accounted for and are kept in safe and secure custody.
Annually review accounting timelines and processes to ensure accounts are being produced in the most effective manner.
Manage and ensure monthly hospital claims (PHIC) have been met.
Budget Management:
Assist in the development and management of annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Financial Reporting:
Produce monthly income and expenditure statements.
Prepare and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare year-end accounts and oversee the external audit.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for donors as required.
Prepare an annual budget, cash requests, and quarterly re-forecasts.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency.
Carry out benchmarking exercises and supplier reviews to obtain value for money on its purchases.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights for decision-making.
Communicate effectively with department heads and staff to address financial queries.
Audit and Compliance:
Assist in the coordination of external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Implement and enforce financial policies and procedures.
Support in the strategic and financial planning, risk management, and value-for-money work within the organization.
Ensure policies and procedures are upheld, reviewed, and updated annually.
Always uphold and embody company core values and code of conduct.
Monitor the renewal of various permits, accreditations, and membership of the hospital to various government agencies and organizations.
OTHER DUTIES
Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with Safecare requirements.
Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc.
Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, commerce, or finance.
Certificate/License required; if any: MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum Experience Required: Minimum five years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Proven experience in financial management or a related role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated abilities as a team player.
