POSITION BRIEF
The Finance Division Head provides leadership and coordination of the company's financial planning, debt financing and budget management functions. Oversees the budget implementation, risk management, accounting and external audit. Leads to improve overall effectiveness and efficiency of the company's accounting functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Planning
Direct and coordinate financial planning and budget management functions
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
Managing cash flow
Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
Analyze returns and cash flow from potential investment or venture
Financial Reporting
Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets
Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
Manage the preparation of all financial reports
Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting
Ensures that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Regulatory Tasks
Coordinate financial audits and execute recommendations for procedural improvements
Coordinate with external counsels on tax and legal related issues
Review reports for submission to regulatory agencies such as Securities and Exchange Commission
Review reports for submission to Bureau of Internal Revenue
Represent the company externally to government agencies and auditors
Risk Management
Identify risk areas, recommend corrective action and in coordination with Heads of Business Unit and Department Heads, manage risk
Review contract with tax and financial impact
Operations
Oversee daily operations of the Finance and Accounting Division
Design, establish and maintain an organization structure to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives
Update the department's manuals on a regular basis
Implement changes in the accounting software
Monitor the team's performance and key performance metrics
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Financial Management or any related course
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and any certification related to accounting and finance
MBA is an advantage
Work Experience
At least 10 years of relevant managerial experience and 10 years of experience in the field of accounting and treasury
Special Qualities/Skills Required
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of financial and accounting software application
Proficiency in Philippine Taxation and mandatory requirements
Excellent people management skills, experience of supervising at least 8 staff
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizing and planning skills
