The Role
As Finance Controller, you will be responsible for providing accurate financial information and adequate financial records.
How you'll contribute
Performs full management of numerous/various teams of managers/professionals across different activities which include planning for the teams' future needs and operations
Integrates key activities/ strategies of the Department to ensure fulfillment of services
Partners and builds strong relationships with key stakeholders
Formulates develops and influences business strategies and plans for the Division
Manages the Division's budget and financial accountability
Reviews consolidated Statement of Condition (SOC)
Reviews financial statements of the Bank and subsidiaries
Handles income tax management of the Bank and subsidiaries
Attends to and participates in the Operating and Business Review and Technology Steering Committee meetings
Approves disbursement vouchers and signs checks and debit/credit memo and contracts
Approves branch transactions per approval matrix
Reviews external reports (i.e BIR, BSP, SEC, and PSE) to ensure accuracy
Reviews/recommends/approves policies
Participates in the discussion on new products and establishment of procedures, control, and proper accounting entries and post review of product performance
Deals with SGV, BIR, and BSP for the duration of the annual audit
Conducts studies on new tax laws, BSP regulations/circulars, and accounting principles to keep abreast of the current practices
Gives accounting and tax advice to other departments to ensure accuracy in the recording of transactions
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Banking and Finance
Certified Public Accountant is preferred
With at least 10 yrs experience in Audit and Taxation, Banking and Financial, Corporate Finance/Investment, General /Cost Accounting
Experience in the banking industry is preferred
Solid and deep knowledge on accounting standards and internal controls; knowledge on financial statement preparation including consolidation of accounts of a group of companies, taxation, and regulatory reporting (BSP, SEC, PSE, and BIR); Updated with Philippine Accounting Standards, Philippine Financial Reporting Standards, new BIR tax regulations, and circulars
Strong planning, organization, project management, and leadership skills; good interpersonal skills
Good communication and presentation skills
