Job Description
Objective:
The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day business activities necessary to ensure the company runs smoothly and efficiently. Operations typically include a range of functions that support the company's overall operations, including business development and growth, revenue management, sales and marketing, communications, accounting, and finance.
Responsibilities:
I. Finance
Financial Reporting:
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and investors.
Manage the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
2.Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive budgeting and forecasting process to support business operations and growth objectives.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, and communicate findings to management.
Provide analysis and insight on key performance indicators and financial metrics.
Manage the company's budget and resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Develop and implement cash management strategies to optimize the company's cash flow.
Manage relationships with financial institutions, including banks, lenders, and investors.
3.Strategic Financial Planning:
Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic financial plans.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
Evaluate the financial impact of potential business opportunities and make recommendations.
4.Revenue and Business Development & Growth
Responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand the company's business and increase its revenue which involves conducting market research, analyzing customer needs and preferences, and developing strategies to expand the company's reach and market share.
Responsible for ensuring the company is generating revenue in the most efficient and effective way possible which involves analyzing revenue streams, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to optimize revenue generation.
5.Compliance:
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely and accurate filings.
Ensure the company's financial policies and procedures are in compliance with industry standards and best practices.
II. Operations
1. Operations Management
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in all aspects of the company's operations.
Continuously monitor industry trends and new technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and security regulations.
Work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Monitor and analyze the company's key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
2. Sales and Marketing
Responsible for driving sales and promoting the company's products or services which involves developing marketing campaigns, identifying and qualifying leads, and managing the sales process from start to finish.
3. Corporate Communications
Responsible for managing internal and external communication within the company which involves developing and implementing communication strategies, managing public relations efforts, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
Qualifications:
With professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Master's degree preferred
10++ years of experience in financial management, preferably in the software or technology industry and with a proven track record of managing operations
Knowledge of software development methodologies and project management practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.
Proficient in financial modeling and analysis, accounting principles, and financial software.
Strong understanding of financial markets, tax laws, and accounting standards and familiar with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Proven ability to develop and implement operational strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
Experience in African markets or other emerging markets
