THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International is implementing a project titled "Safeguarding Against and Addressing Fishers' Exploitation at Sea" (SAFE Seas). The main objective of the project is to reduce forced labor and human trafficking on fishing vessels in Indonesia and the Philippines.
In line with this project, Plan International invites highly competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.
The Field Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will oversee the field implementation of the project's monitoring and evaluation plan. This role will be covering the project areas in General Santos and Sarangani
Further, as the Field Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer:
You will facilitate the conduct of semi-annual and annual project assessments and contribute to the overall participatory program review results.
You will lead in the conduct of Baseline, Mid, and End-line studies in communities.
You will recommend actions to improve project implementation based on assessment and monitoring results.
You will facilitate capturing/documentation, storage, and sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Graduate of Social Science, Statistics, Social Work, Community Development or another related course
At least three (3) years in development work.
Minimum of three (3) years' work experience in conducting research, planning, and developing and managing community development work-related projects
Has completed training or other learning activities on Rights-based programming; Community Development; Program/ Project Management; Child Protection, Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child Trafficking, Gender-Based Violence, Policy, and Program Management; Community Based Coastal Resources Management; knowledge on Labor including child labor laws, fisheries, trafficking, and other related laws.
Has relevant experience working for a project implementing forced labor and trafficking in persons in the fishing sector.
Previous work experience in a similar project or in a non-government organization/s is an advantage.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
