Job Description
Understand & analyse existing reporting data sources and review against current operational and management reporting needs
Design and update ideal future proof data models to support current & evolving reporting requirements
Coordinate with the required groups to establish the needed connections from the identified primary & interim data sources
Setup and maintain reporting data repositories on various development, staging, and production environments
Develop and execute routine Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) to reporting repositories
Identify tuning & optimisation, data caching & replication design opportunities to improve reporting performance, ensure data integrity, and enforce the needed controls.
Participate in the resolution of any ETL/database related issues that will occur within the assigned reporting domain
Initiate development and update of related technical documentations (data models, integration process, metadata, etc.)
Propagate data engineering best practices through conduct of training, mentoring, and knowledge content development
Qualifications
Desire:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or Engineering
Knowledgeable in open source ETL Technologies
Working knowledge on the use of Python scripts (including Python libraries like Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib)
Knowledgeable in code versioning tools (Git)
Experience in Power BI preferred
Pro-active, independent, accurate, flexible, and customer oriented
Keen in updating oneself in current technology trends and is willing to learn new related technologies as needed
Amenable to work in UK Shift
Must have:
At least 1 year of working experience on the use of Python scripts for ETL procedures
At least 1 year of prior experience directly related to Reporting Automation, Data Warehousing, and/or Business Intelligence Projects.
Hands on experience in building and maintaining an ETL procedures from various data sources (flat file, database)
Advance Proficiency on Database, Data Integration, and Reporting Technology Stack (MS SQL, T-SQL)
Able to converse to business users to understand requirements and effectively convey solution options and technical approaches
Highly analytical and has a good grasp on the principles of data modelling and architecture of master, transactions, and derived analytical data
