Job Summary
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Systems Engineer/Tech lead is a self-starting technical SME supporting the implementation and steady-state maintenance for Qualfon global infrastructure systems comprised of Windows AD, VM, server, & storage. He/she will manage from a strong hands-on perspective the use of current technologies and assist in architecting future technology implementations. This position will report to a US based management team and will be required to communicate frequently with counterparts at several global locations.
Area of expertise (Skills)
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure high availability to infrastructure systems in implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical and logical systems
2. Architect implementation of new technologies (ie - converged infrastructure)
3. Develop and analyze highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance
4. Coordinate and lead team members in various technical initiatives
5. Conducts capacity planning reviews with management and approves capacity plans formulated by less experienced personnel
6. Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application
7. Researches current systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures
8. Manage projects that affect the entire company as well as individual clients
9. Support and act as a technical resource for the Systems, App/Dev, Database and Reporting teams
10. Technically document system topology and design
11. Coordinate technical documentation for backups, email procedures, and all other related documentation as needed
12. Assist in creating and maintaining business continuity including planning, implementation, and disaster recovery
13. Provide recommendations for systems and database additions and upgrades
14. Work with infrastructure counterparts to evaluate new technology
15. Adhere to company guidelines and procedures
16. Participate in an on-call support rotation
17. All other tasks assigned
Other Skills and Experiences (Min)
Desired Qualifications: * Experience with large scale IT integration projects
2+ Years working in a call center or multi-client environment
Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Microsoft and/or VMware certifications
AWS/Azure cloud experience
