The Environmental Product Compliance Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining regulatory compliance for products manufactured by Analog Devices. This role requires application of regulatory expertise and chemical knowledge to support review and approval of raw materials, purchased components and finished end-products and other materials as applicable to local, national, and international laws and regulations. This position will require work hours starting at 5am local time to be available for US CST working hour communications and collaboration.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring Analog Device products are fully compliant to materials and substance regulations for all applicable markets.
Engage with suppliers to collect documentation and validate regulatory compliance of materials.
Utilize and maintain Compliance Database for material and component data.
Review BOMs and technical documentation to validate regulatory compliance of products.
Perform review of material compositions and interpret test reports related to banned and restricted substances and materials compliance requirements.
Work with cross-functional teams on changes, existing, and new material compliance approvals.
Coordinate material compliance risk assessments and testing for applicable materials, components, and parts with accredited test laboratories.
Support technical responses and declarations to customer requests regarding product compliance, including generation of IPC reports from the Compliance Database.
Provide technical support and investigation into compliance strategies to new and changing regulations.
Qualifications:
Strong technical knowledge and skills implementing and complying with the REACH Regulation, WEEE Directive, RoHS Directive, including CE Marking and Technical File development, China RoHS, Batteries Directive, Packaging Directive, California Prop 65, Waste Framework Directive (SCIP) and others.
Chemical, Materials or related Engineering discipline Degree (B.S/M.S.)
Minimum of 3 years working experience with chemical/materials and regulations in the electronic industry.
Strong understanding of electronic materials, components and accessories and related regulatory scope.
Strong understanding of the EU CE marking process, and other regional product marking requirements related to electronic products.
Ability to perform high-quality detail-oriented work (e.g., interpreting governmental regulations, evaluating environmental attributes of materials and products)
Experience working with compliance portals (ex: GreenSoft, BOMCHECK, Silicon Expert, etc)
Exceptional analytical, investigative, and organizational skills.
Exceptional technical communication skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Proficient in Microsoft applications.
Proficient in SAP will be an added advantage.
IMDS automotive and Conflict Minerals experience will be added advantages for this position.
For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
