Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform special projects or tasks in a timely manner, as assigned by Team leader or Management. The role requires an understanding of operating system patch management, endpoint configuration, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and IT Operations based on ITIL Framework. The role's primary focus is to provide operations expertise with a high focus on automation in areas of patch, configuration, security, compliance, and ensuring the operations processes and standards are maintained in production. Other duties include documentation and service request fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
As the Cloud Engineer, the qualified candidate should be well versed in patch and endpoint management of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
Primary responsibility will be administration of the Tanium platform that is leveraged for operating system patch management of Cardinal Health's commodity servers.
The Cloud Engineer will be expected to develop automation processes, self-service options, and framework asneeded to support patch administration.
Must be knowledgeable in multiple technological areas including commodity server hardware, virtual server hardware, server operating systems, server applications/services, and security management and patching viaTanium.
The Cloud Engineer will also be required to troubleshoot and correct complex patch deployment issues while ensuring compliance to service level agreements.
Knowledge and experience with task automation via a script language (e.g. Bash, Python, or PowerShell) is highly beneficial to the success of the Tanium Engineer.
Continually review and recommend improvements to operational processes and procedures.
Experience with following Tanium Modules is helpful: Patch, Asset, Connect, and Trend.
Knowledge of server and networking concepts such as DHCP, DNS, LDAP/Active Directory, firewalls, routing, and TCP/IP protocol.
Skillset:
Enterprise patch management application Tanium preferred
Systems administration expertise (Windows Server, Linux)
Scripting technologies (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
ITIL Foundations and Intermediate Level Transition, Operations, and Continuous Improvement
Enterprise ITSM and CMDB Tools
Storage architecture and technologies
Automation in a cloud environment - Infrastructure as Code, especially using GCP
Risk, Security, and Audit compliance
Qualifications:
. 1 Year of experience with GCP or AWS, certification desired
. 3 Years of experience with Enterprise ITIL Processes
. 3 Years of experience in data center domains (server, network, storage, security)
. 3 Years of experience with server and directory service technologies (Windows, Linux, AD, DNS)
. Excellent organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills
. Security compliance experience such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001 or SOX
. Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules and an understanding of business initiatives
. Ability to apply critical thinking to all aspects of the position
. Detail oriented with excellent documentation skills/methodologies, who can successfully manage multiple priorities
