ELECTRICIAN HELPER
 
Electrician Helper works under the guidance of senior technicians or electricians to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of systems such as fire protection, CCTV, and fire detection and alarm systems (FDAS).
 
Job Responsibilities:
Help senior technicians with the installation of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers.
Aid in setting up CCTV systems, mounting cameras, running cables, and configuring recording devices.
Support the installation of fire detection and alarm systems (FDAS), ensuring all wiring and connections meet industry standards.
Assist in routing cables, laying conduit, and organizing wiring for clean, safe, and functional installations.
Ensure that wiring is labeled and organized to match layout specifications.
Perform simple tasks like stripping wires, connecting circuits, and installing conduit under supervision.
Use basic hand tools and power tools safely to assist in wiring and installation.
Support senior technicians in testing systems to confirm they meet functional and safety standards.
Help troubleshoot common issues, such as connectivity problems or signal interference in CCTV systems.
Follow strict safety protocols, especially when working with high-voltage systems or in elevated locations.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines as directed by senior staff.
Assist in routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of installed systems.
Respond to service calls and aid in diagnosing issues with existing systems.
Keep accurate records of materials used and work completed for each project.
Report any issues, equipment malfunctions, or deviations from project plans to supervisors
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in electrical work or a related field is a plus.
Prior experience in electrical work or a helper position is beneficial but not always required.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, familiarity with hand and power tools, ability to understand installation drawings.
Ability to follow directions, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
