Reporting to the Electrical Design Supervisor under the Substation Electrical Design Management Section of Electrical Engineering Design Division, the successful candidate will be responsible in leading the conduct of a more complex details design of substation project and proactively identify solutions and studies that innovatively solve unique and complex substation design problems.
Prepares Technical Design standards for substation electrical design procedures and documentary requirements for Regulatory Compliance of substation portions in all projects;
Prepares and consolidates complex conceptual and detail design activities, i.e. design criteria, station layout, electrical bus system, grounding system, conduit and cable system, AC/DC distribution system, equipment specification and bill of materials for substation portions in all projects;
Evaluates and checks complex design documents: design criteria, design reports, technical provisions, technical data sheets, plans, calculation sheets and other documents submitted by contractors/manufacturers/suppliers and project proponents in accordance with the bidding documents of substation portions in all projects;
Facilitates inter-disciplinary design review adhering to design specifications, guidelines and standards / Acts as Design Team Lead for the composite team from different Design Divisions implementing a specific substation project that collaborates to assess technical problems seen during the preparation of design documents and recommends solutions as applicable;
Conducts actual inspection of substation sites, coordination meetings, and other complex design-related activities on various stages of project implementation and collaborates with the Supervisor in assessing technical problems on the construction and /or recommends solutions;
Participates in the substation site selection and makes recommendations in consideration of constructability, technical compliance and economic aspect;
Provides technical assistance during site inspection, pre-bid conference, bid clarifications and amendments to the technical procurement department for projects.
Requirements:
Licensed Electrical Engineer
3 years of relevant work experience
Has advanced knowledge and skills in the application of theories, standards, practices and concepts in the field of Electrical design
Oral and written proficiency for presentation, preparation and review of technical documents and reports and various correspondences
Has advanced knowledge in CAD software (i.e., AutoCAD, ZWCad, etc.) and electrical design software (Bentley)
