Are you a motivated self-starter?
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to be assigned to our client, a builder of custom, high performance & efficient aluminum superyachts in Australia. You will have an opportunity to work with experienced construction and design teams and see the completion of a superyacht for export to international markets. The role would suit an experienced electrical engineer with excellent oral presentation skills and a positive attitude, proactive and looking to develop their career in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate integrity, attention to detail and ability to get along with a diverse team.
This role will include the following tasks:
Preparation of vessel electrical design and drawings in accordance with technical requirements (contract specifications and relevant rules) including calculations and schematics;
Design of power generation, distribution, control, lighting, automation, emergency shutdown system, navigation and communication systems;
Produce electrical drawings, cable schedules, bill of materials and panel layouts;
Technical evaluation of electrical- electronic systems and equipment;
Selection and requisition of equipment and components; and
Work with other disciplines and contractors to contribute to a successful project
Requirements
As the ideal applicant you should have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical engineering;
Minimum 6 years' experience in electrical design, of which 2-3 years preferably in marine/shipbuilding industry;
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and 3D design and drafting;
Proficient in Microsoft Office application;
Knowledge and experience in PLC programing and control system design preferably in Schneider Electric Modicon PLCs;
Knowledge about Lighting Design and Control preferably in KNX system;
A background knowledge of IT Networks and ICT equipment; and
An interest in keeping abreast with the latest audio and visual technology advances.
