Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (Marine)
 
The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer's primary role is to conduct installation, testing and commissioning of marine systems and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and provide maintenance and repair service for vessel safety.
 
This Designation is expected to conduct safety surveys of a merchant vessel in line with SOLAS requirements, the relevant Class Societies, or MCA. Through continuous development of technical knowledge, they are expected to advice stakeholders and customers when requested to support sales.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Review technical specifications to ensure design and implementation meets contract requirements
Conduct onboard vessel inspection with client to address concerns, identify issues including troubleshooting of marine systems and equipment.
Manage onboard activities, schedules and commitments, oversee production and technical improvements.
Install new systems and technology, and ensure proper work execution.
Supervise and give instructions to technicians/engineers, create work done reports detailing job progress and recommendations.
Planning and anticipation on allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Monitor and report progress to superiors including sharing of important information
Facilitate and manage compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
Provide and assist client technical support and resolve concerns
To contribute better work flow and share experience with the team
Cover all of Technician responsibilities
Any ad-hoc duties by assigned
Qualifications
Preferably with experience in the Shipyard and Shipbuilding industry
At least 5 years of experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (Marine) or in a similar role
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of marine equipment and systems
Proficient with the use business PC or laptop, well familiar with Microsoft Office applications (such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
