Project Description
The Better Health Programme is a 3.5-year project (2019-2022) funded by the UK Government's Prosperity Programme. The programme aims to reduce NCD burden in the Philippines and improve access to safe, quality care using equitable, ethical and sustainable approaches. The programme will accomplish this through the implementation of a set of activities in the following areas: 1) Strategies to Counter NCDs; 2) Digital Health initiatives; 3) Education and Training; 4) Provider Performance Improvement; and 5) Life Sciences initiatives.
Scope of Work
Responsibilities include: * Copyediting of the manuscript (MS) covering:
· Grammar
· Typographical errors
· Organization (sections and subsections)
· Style (consistency of word usage, format, etc.)
· Use of politically correct language
· Proper numbering and labeling of tables and figures, as well as appendices
· Correct citing of references in text and in bibliography
· Completeness of glossary and acronyms list, if there are any
Coordination with author on proposed revisions, missing data, and clarifications (if there are any)
Manuscript (MS) layout and preparation for press work
At the request of BHP, Consultant will coordinate with printing press
Required Skills
· Manuscript copyediting
· Revising manuscript content based on discussions with author/s
· Layout of final manuscript
· Facilitation of copyright applications
· Coordination with printing press and/or online publisher for the preparations for printing and/or online publication
Required Education and Work Experience
· Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related degree
· Preferably with graduate units or degree in communications, journalism, or related degree
· Preferably have attended short courses or professional development trainings on the development of process guides or manuals for health-related programs
· Must have had experience working as a copyeditor
· Must have had experience in preparing publications with a multidisciplinary team
· Must have had experience in preparing and coordinating printing of manuscripts for printing and/or online publication
· Preferably have had experience in facilitating copyright applications
· Preferably have had experience in coordinating with printing presses and/or online publishers

· February 1, 2022 to March 30, 2022
