Driver

POSITION SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for providing and/or arranging transportation for CI staff and guests in a timely, safe, and responsible manner according to specific tasks. S/he facilitates international visitors and local staff's arrivals and departures at the airport. They ensure CI vehicles are routinely serviced, well-maintained, cleaned, and safe at all times, and all vehicle licenses, inspections, insurance, etc. comply with local vehicle licensing and operation requirements. S/he ensures the proper use of vehicles, maintains logbooks and/or maintenance manuals, and performs routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.
Apart from driving staff to meetings or missions, his/her other duties shall include manual handling of cargo and equipment, distribution of invitations to partners, assisting passengers to ensure their safety and comfort, evaluating needs for transportation such as scheduling for refueling. S/he is also expected to assist and support activities when required by project staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide prompt and reliable transportation for CI staff and visitors and assist in all aspects of a successful expedition. Arrange for alternative transportation as needed.
Facilitate visitor and staff arrival and departures to and from local airports or site locations.
Manage transportation needs for field trips or site visits.
Coordinate vehicle use and maintain logbooks and vehicle registers.
Ensure that all vehicles have current licenses, inspections, insurance, etc. appropriate to their use and in compliance with local laws.
Inspect vehicles periodically to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operation. Manage maintenance schedules and records.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned, such as minor procurement of office/field supplies, photocopying, scanning documents, and photo documentation of field activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Obey traffic rules and road signs; negotiate, liaise, and coordinate with local authorities to facilitate the smooth running of vehicle movements.
Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
Identify any apparent problems during field deliveries and report them to the appropriate personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Phillippines.
Normal office environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Up to 2 years of experience in a field logistical support role.
Clear understanding and ability to follow Procurement Processes.
Experience in navigating areas in the project areas.
Experience in the general engine and vehicle maintenance.
Up-to-date license and driving qualifications appropriate to the assigned country.
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Interpersonal skills relating to good customer service.
Good physical condition and capacity for working.
Preferred
High School or Secondary School education.
Experience working as a company driver.
Knowledge of radio, multi-function printers, other office equipment, satellite phone, mobile phone applications, email, and basic computer operations
Trustworthy, high sense of responsibility, alertness; physical fitness on duty, emotional stability, neat and courteous
