Knowledgeable in designing, executing, utilizing and maintaining software engineering applications.
Takes accountability when delivering results against a strategic objective directly supporting a company or business objective over a one to three year time horizon.
Actively up-level engineering and partner functions through organizational, people, and process insights and initiatives.
Ensures software engineering personnel is suitably trained to perform all job function and suitably use project and software related tools.
Holds oneself and the managers reporting directly accountable for the inspection, oversight, prioritization and delivery of the results needed by Maya
Drives the full talent lifecycle for your org, holding oneself and direct managers accountable for creating a healthy culture of support, growth and excitement that empowers our teams to deliver at a high level.
Manages continuing support and provides system metrics for client facing products.
Presents practical input for strategic technology decisions.
Supports preparation of Technology Roadmap.
Supervises reporting responsibility for independent software contractors, software engineers and outsourcing partners.
Helps translate business requirements into technical needs and actions.
Engages in executive-level communications and represent Dropbox effectively in external forums
Responsibilities:
Lead one or more cross functional engineering teams, focusing on financial services
Drive the most important long-term priorities for the company that create the highest value for my customer
Define the technology roadmap and high-level architecture for financial core platforms
Design highly scalable, fault-tolerant, reliable transaction processing systems (able to handle 100M population /w 10K+ TPS) and properly respecting data privacy
Attract senior and diverse talent across a broad range of backgrounds, experiences, locations to Maya and have strong followership across the company
Closely involved in target setting, performance management, training and assignment of work for engineers
Review functional specifications, design changes, choices of technology and/or tools, and assisting in code reviews
Ensure projects are staffed appropriately to set them up for success, placing my strongest technical leaders where they are the most needed and impactful
Ensure the right balance of operational excellence, innovation, and speed across teams against company-level goals
Implement industry best practices and technologies that drive exceptional integrity and robustness of transaction processing, including transactions within our own systems or with partners (e.g. schemes like Visa / MasterCard, partnering banks, etc).
Navigate with various regulatory requirements like central bank or PCI-DSS for sensitive systems, infrastructure and operations
Coordinate with various senior engineering leads across the group to implement group wide initiatives
Create an environment that fosters innovation, and helps Dropboxers take smart risks, own the outcomes, and learn from failures
What You Need To Maximize Your Contribution
BS in computer science or related fields
10+ years experience in system development (preferably Java, Golang)
3+ years in developing financial services
2+ years team management
Track records in building highly scalable & robust financial platforms
Preferred to have experience with mobile money, payment services or related product development
Preferred with exposure to regulated environment in financial sector
Experience in building teams
Ability to lead a team to work on most complex problems involving a broad range of technologies
Fluent knowledge on a variety of current and emerging technologies as well as seasoned leadership experience on major project teams
Excellent communication and people skills, with ability to work across departments and to present findings to C-level executives
Can pioneer new technical directions for projects critical to company's success
Expertise in management and deployment of cloud computing applications and infrastructure such as AWS
