Responsible for working within development and engineering teams to automate software delivery and infrastructure deployments, troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues, enable more frequent, higher quality code deployments, and ensure proper monitoring is in place for applications deployed in the cloud.
Responsibilities
System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
Works closely with engineering teams to ensure proper monitoring tools are in place for the applications.
Modify existing Java/Spring Boot applications deployed in AWS as needed to improve monitoring and/or performance of applications.
Supports engineering teams for deployment issues encountered in Jenkins or in AWS.
Updates the automated deployment scripts as needed for continuous improvement.
Engages in incident resolution process as needed.
Supports a healthy DevOps culture within the organization.
Works effectively within an agile/scrum environment
Participates in sprint/project planning and performs estimates as necessary.
Aligns work to enterprise architectural standards
Follows direction for constructing reusable build/deployment frameworks.
Document requirements, specifications, and solutions as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of programming/scripting experience with moderate depth of knowledge.
Knowledge of an agile team environment and process.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Skills Needed
Experience in building scalable infrastructure and deploying applications in AWS. Comfortable in using the following AWS Services - ECS, EC2, ELB, RDS, VPC
Experience with application performance management, monitoring, and logging tools such as AppDynamics, Elastic Search, Kibana
Experience with software development using Java and Spring
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
Having one or more of the following is a plus:
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) software tools such as Terraform
