Job Summary:
The Development Supervisor will supervise the internal cloud team while working closely with
developers, analysts, and other operations personnel to provide the best in class service and deliver
a high-performing and highly reliable technology platform. Responsibilities may involve providing
design input, collaborating with customer service and analysts on project milestones, analyzing
weaknesses, effectively weighing the potential risks of IT solutions against the company's IT needs,
and recommending system improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Creates, manages, and streamlines all operations and procedures for Public Cloud and container-based technologies; this includes training, documentation, customer and vendor engagement, automation, and tooling
2. Establishes a centralized support model for the Public Cloud and supporting infrastructure that promotes lean practices
3. Advocates for a DevOps approach to traditional system administration tasks, leading by example
4. Works closely with internal engineering teams to provide input on new component functionality, system performance, capacity management, monitoring, and testing of infrastructure upgrades and platform releases
5. Conducts incident, problem, and change management for supported platforms
6. Identifies problematic areas and establishes strategic solutions
7. Accomplishes other tasks assigned from time to time
Qualifications
1. College graduate with a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer engineering, or computer science
2. Over 3 years of relevant working experience
3. 1 to 3 years of experience supporting an enterprise-level hosting environment and managing high-availability production systems.
4. Background working with system architecture components, such as networking and software, is needed
5. Competency in at least one programming language (Python, Perl, Powershell, C#, Java)
6. Sound knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing
7. Experience with Agile and DevOps concepts
8. Ability to learn new technologies quickly
9. Demonstrates outstanding judgment or analytical ability to deal with highly technical projects
10. Must be very detail-oriented so as to avoid the possibility of errors and serious loss
11. Has strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and high pressure situations for outage management or resolution
12. Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment
