Employment Type: Full timeAbout the RoleThe Development Project Manager leads, coaches, and supports cross-team delivery across web applications, websites, and growth initiatives. You partner with engineering and SEO to plan, prioritise, and ship valuable work. Reporting to the leadership team, you own delivery health, scope, dependencies, and quality. You will guide teams working with Laravel, PHP, Node.js, and WordPress, while coordinating closely with SEO, analytics, design, and content. Excellence is the standard.Key Responsibilities
Daily delivery rhythm and coverage: Run daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retros. Ensure the day starts organised, priorities are clear, and no critical conversations or handoffs are missed.
Backlog and scope: Translate tasks/plans into projects with clear acceptance criteria. Keep the backlog clean, current, and ready. Protect scope and manage change with control and calm.
Program and sprint management: Prioritise high-impact work, clear blockers fast, manage dependencies across Laravel, PHP, Node.js, WordPress, and SEO. Reassign workloads to protect service levels and timelines.
Technical leadership: Speak code fluently and model best practice. Pressure test designs and estimates. Uphold version control discipline, code review quality, CI/CD flow, and environment management.
Quality and release: Build test plans with QA. Enforce definition of ready and definition of done. Run release checklists, guide safe go-live, and verify outcomes after release.
Stakeholder experience and communication: Keep product, design, growth, and clients informed with simple, timely updates. Manage expectations, surface risks early, and drive decisions with data.
Reporting and accountability: Track and report throughput, cycle time, lead time, velocity, release frequency, defect escape rate, SEO impact, and budget burn. Hold the team to targets and raise the bar.
People leadership: Coach engineers and project leads. Set clear goals, observe the work, give direct feedback, and grow capability. Recognise top performance and quickly course correct underperformance.
Standards and discipline: Keep teams aligned to rules, processes, security, privacy, and company expectations at all times. Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Requirements
5 to 10 years experience managing high-performing software and digital projects in Agile environments.
Proven success delivering complex web and platform work on time, on budget, and with quality.
Prior hands-on development experience or very strong technical literacy across Laravel, PHP, Node.js, WordPress, databases, cloud services, and modern front end.
Mastery of backlog management, estimation, forecasting, and capacity planning in a project tracking tool.
Experience leading SEO projects with sound knowledge of technical SEO, site performance, analytics, and content workflows.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisation skills. Proactive and process driven.
A track record of honesty, loyalty, hard work, and accountability.
Strong drive to meet and exceed targets. Mental toughness and calm problem solving under pressure.
