We use sustainable natural materials to create a wide offering of bespoke surfaces of the highest quality for interior design of superyachts, private jets, and residential objects.
 
We recently extended our scope to build up the production of pre-defined furniture objects intended for residential and hospitality sectors without compromising quality. We are ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certified.
 
To successfully push forward in this challenging business, we are looking for a Development Project Engineer in our customized sampling and development department.
 
We use a wide range of natural materials like sea shells, egg shells, barks, leaves, and feathers. In our sampling and development department we develop new ways to use them to provide designers and clients new ways to use our products.
 
DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ENGINEER
 
Job description
 
Responsible for the execution and attaining the defined objectives of development projects, by executing the following task:
Define and plan development project activities and resources like labor, materials, tools and equipment, external providers. Document the objectives in a project proposal including project budget and time.
Conduct literature research to define experimental conditions and setup.
Conduct hands-on experiments yourself and by assigning work to operators.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders from other departments including our European headquarters, other research organizations and institutions to obtain best available project resources, support, and solutions.
Ensure that processes executed during development are scalable and fit for later sampling and production activities.
Document all relevant information during project execution such as step-by-step process descriptions, required time and resources, material properties, raw material sourcing, observations, critical points process steps, and limitations of the development.
Monitor and report project status to relevant stakeholders by clear and reliable documentation on progress, budget, and action items.
Train, lead, and direct project team members to ensure objectives are obtained, resources are managed adequately, and compliant, safe, and sustainable work conditions are provided.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by your superior.
Qualifications and experience
Preferably an engineering degree or other related sciences, with at least 3 years of relevant research, development, and supervisory work experience.
Smart and self-motivated, preferably belonging to the top 30% of the class.
Self-motivated with a natural desire to learn, research, find solutions and invent new things by getting physically involved in hands-on execution.
Able to plan multiple experiments or tests to run in parallel and develop relevant work plans.
Able to communicate work plans to operators, bring them onboard and ensure they understand the relevant project requirements.
Experience in furniture industry materials like glues, epoxies, coatings, lacquers is a big advantage.
Solid computer knowledge, especially in MS Excel, Word, and basic image editing for documentation purposes. Knowledge in AutoCAD is a plus.
Resourceful, assertive, dedicated, with a sense of urgency to get the job done and willingness to work overtime on short notice if needed.
Very good English communication skills especially in dealing with European stakeholders and foreign counterparts.
