JOB OVERVIEW:
Works with dentists to provide care to patients and providing the administrative support. Among other responsibilities they prepare surgery material and sterilize it after being used in procedures, operate suction devices during treatment, prepare materials and compositions e.g. fillings, perform material stock control.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure dental sessions run as smoothly as possible by following the instructions of the dentists.
Prepare and maintain the clinical environment.
Build relationship with doctors, patients and other clinic staff
Make sure that all tools and materials laid out for a dentist before a procedure begins.
Make sure all equipment is sterilized and ready before procedures and treatments as well as prepares and mixes materials.
Help reassure patients and provide support to the dentist during treatment
Carry stock control duties
Takes photos of the patients before and after the treatments.
Takes CT scan, OPG, radiographs etc.
Skills and Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of any 4 year course but preferably BS Nursing.
Must to be alert and detail oriented
Ability to follow specific instructions from a dentist as well as the ability to follow strict rules and protocols of GAOC correctly.
Must be a good communicator
Pleasant personality to establish rapport with patients who are anxious or in pain.
