Job Description
Supports database operations that include provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance of all database servers and applications.
Ensures that data is available, protected from loss and corruption, and easily accessible as needed.
Ensures the performance, integrity, and security of database information that is not limited to confidential financial numbers, payroll data, and customer shipping records.
Secures that the data is available to the users and from unauthorized access or accidental loss or corruption.
Plans and develops database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.
Allocates system storage and plans future storage requirements for the database system.
Creates primary database storage structures (tablespaces) after application developers have designed an application.
Modifies the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developers. - Installs, configures, and upgrades database.
Supports the operation, monitors, maintains database high availability, performance tuning, and daily administration.
Performs any related database functions including designing, implementing new databases, and configuration management.
Maintains database schemas, query logic, and report definitions for various in-house development and applications.
Back up all databases in a way that meets the business recovery policies. Manage database access.
Diagnoses and troubleshoots database errors.
Recommends and implements emerging database technologies.
Creates and manages database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Promotes test databases to the production environment.
Establishes database clustering and partitioning strategies.
Other job-related activities that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
Education
At least graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or any related course.
Related Work Experience
At least 3 years of experience with programming languages such as PL/SQL coding.
At least 3 years of experience in administering, managing, and tuning databases.
At least 3 years of experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.
Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications.
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding - Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.
Familiarity with programming languages API.
Knowledge
Knowledgeable in the following:
Proficient in data manipulation languages, including MS SQL, Oracle Database, Hadoop, or PostgreSQL.
Data and schema standards and concepts.
Database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Database structure and theory.
Disaster recovery and database backup procedures.
Different reporting tools
