The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Oracle applications database administrator to join our team to work on managing complex Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle database environments accessed by over 15,000 users globally. You will join the data platforms team that provides database support and data services to Arup and play a key role in the delivery of several technically challenging projects.
The team is geographically dispersed and the role reports into the service leader who is based in the UK.

The responsibilities of this role include:
Support and maintenance of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 payroll and HRMS environments
Oracle E-Business Suite patch application, cloning multi-tier environments, upgrades and troubleshooting
Ensuring database environments are performing according to agreed SLAs
Oracle database and WebLogic middleware administration
Capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, integrity, security, planning, development, backup and data recovery of DT's database environments
Deploying High availability and disaster recovery solutions
Managing technology risk, governance and compliance
Performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL code
Database migrations to Azure Cloud
Providing basic Linux and Windows Operating systems support
Providing second and third line support

Requirements and skills
Essential skills and knowledge:
In-depth experience in Oracle E-business Suite (R12) Payroll and Oracle Database Core Technology, including Data Guard, RMAN and ASM
Excellent knowledge of Oracle Weblogic Middleware support and maintenance
Ability to configure complex database environments comprising of failover and high availability
Strong SQL and PL/SQL development and performance tuning skills
Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager
Basic Linux administration
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, analytical, planning and written/verbal communication skills
Desirable skills and knowledge:
SQL Server administration, AWS and other Cloud database services experience
Working knowledge of ITIL service management processes
Previous service delivery and service management experience
Oracle Virtual Machine knowledge
