Job Description:
The Network Database Administrator role is to be part of the team that provides operational support, maintenance and administration for systems and services in our evolving network and telecommunications infrastructuredatabase environment.
In addition to direct operational responsibilities, the selected candidate will participate in developing the operational models, processes and procedures required to maintain and support systems for our organization.
The successful candidate needs to be able to meet our high standards for quality, versatility and integrity while being able to adhere to our tight deadlines and time constraints
Ensure that the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality isare maintained at all times and practices are in line with relevant legislation.
When required, undertake additional projects or activities as directed by management.
Provide assistance and support to other members of the team in the performance of their roles and responsibilities.
Act in accordance with all Group policies, and procedures, practices and guidelines in the performance of accountabilities..

Requirements:
5+ Year experience in network & telecommunications Database support
Extensive experience in SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019 instance installation, configuration and security implementation
Skills in designing, managing, and supporting database for 24/7 business-critical applications
Extensive Experience of SQL Server Administration, upgrades, migrations, SSIS and SSRS
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, resource contentions, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, Profiler, SSMS, SSCM, DMVs, system procedures and other troubleshooting tools to analyze and tune databases and SQL queries for optimal efficiency.
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication and AlwaysOn databases
Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching, how statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) and developing/automating database maintenance scripts
Sound knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server operating systems with an emphasis on maintaining large data volumes (
100 GB) on multi-disk arrays. * Knowledge of administering Microsoft reporting services and developing custom reports SSRS.
Designing and developing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and SSAS systems, Active Directory operation.
Thorough knowledge of relational database theory,
Knowledge of corporate contact center technologies desirableData Modelling experience and knowledge of database structure systems, Data analytics, data modelling techniques
Knowledge with administrating and managing corporate firewalls
Knowledge of VMWare NSX desirable Data warehousing and ETL
Knowledge of VMWare ESX desirableProven experience in working alongside multiple teams
Knowledge of Software Define WAN technologies desirable
Proven experience in working alongside multiple teams
Proven experience in large and complex corporate voice environments
Proven experience in supporting corporate customer call center technologies
Understanding ITIL and deployment/release processes
Proven experience in large and complex corporate networks
CCNP or equivalentMicrosoft SQL level certification requirede
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make technical decisions
A preparedness to take the initiative and a strong desire to achieve results
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized and with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Advanced knowledge of networking concepts: Subnets, VLAN segments, Routing and LAN/WAN design
Good working knowledge of network & telecommunications performance tuning, network design and implementation
Advanced knowledge with networking services: DNS, DHCP
