The Opportunity:
OpenText is looking for a Data Specialist, Master Data Operations for the Data Governance Organization (DGO) within the IT organization. As the Data Specialist, Master Data Operations, you will understand the importance of data quality to business operations and will strive to create and maintain every piece of master data in line with our quality standards. Activities will include responding to business requests to create or maintain master data according to our policies & procedures and carrying out master data cleansing activities to improve the overall accuracy and quality of our master data. Master data objects you may work with include Customer, Vendor, Materials, and Finance within the SAP ERP ecosystem and connected downstream systems including SalesForce, Service Now, Assure, ITSM, Changepoint, Siebel and OpenAir.
You are great at:
Work closely with broad user groups to coordinate and complete Operational Excellence activities to support daily operations, sponsored projects, and enhancements by
Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness
Thinking through requests and asking any questions to ensure a complete understanding before actioning and responding
Ability to write various documents such as a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Following policies and procedures to ensure the highest data quality, understanding the impact that data quality has on cross-functional business units
Strong analytical and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Identifying, reporting, and resolving data quality issues through root cause analysis
Initiating and carrying out data cleansing activities
Providing development opportunities and support to maximize Operational Excellence orientation across the organization
Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions
Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
Understanding of privacy laws and regulations
Be a change champion within the site and network by prompting questions and fostering team-based behaviour
What it takes:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and business-related work experience totaling to 3-5 years
2+ years' experience working with SAP or a similar ERP for maintaining master data, OR, work experience within the Orders to Cash (O2C) or Procure to Pay (P2P) business functions with an understanding of how master data affects those business functions
Experience using Excel to perform data operations, e.g. working with data types, vlookups, pivot tables, etc.
Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge or experience using any one of SalesForce, ITSM, Assure, Siebel, Changepoint, OpenAir, or cloud biller systems is an asset
Should have a good understanding of finance business processes. With the ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish multiple tasks, both as part of a team and independently
Should be able to write detailed documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, Business Requirements, etc.
A high standard for work ethic and quality is required
