Introduction:
To support the business in its efforts to integrate Privacy-by-Design into our business-as-usual practices, the RX Global Privacy Office are building a support function within our existing privacy team in Manilla to support the business in the completion of Data Protection / Privacy Impact Assessments (D/PIA).
The Data Protection Paralegal will act as the central liaison point for the business to provide all necessary information to ensure completeness and consistency of approach globally. This will include assisting areas of the business who are new to the process.
Key Responsibilities:
To assist key stakeholders with the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments and Privacy Impact Assessments (D/PIA) globally, which may include explaining detailed or complex requirements in an accessible way to those who are new to the process;
To gather all relevant information for the processing activity, including, but not limited to, processing purpose, personal data to be collected, how personal information will be used, and data flow diagrams etc;
To raise information requests to be added to the assessment where explanations are not complete or require further explanation by the business;
To keep accurate, comprehensive notes on collated information using the online assessment portal (OneTrust);
To raise any concerns, queries or issues for immediate attention to the appropriate BU Privacy Lead or the Global Privacy Office. This includes suggested service/ process improvements; and
To ensure working knowledge of the process, the commercial activities of the business and relevant law is kept up to date.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The business is looking for a candidate with legal experience in a commercial environment. Such knowledge and experience should include:
To possess, or, to have the willingness to develop a working knowledge of privacy laws, in particular within the EU, US, Brazil, China and Japan;
Understanding of RX databases, platforms, systems, data flows and processes;
Have excellent communication skills to be able to explain complex or detailed compliance requirements in a clear and concise manner at all levels of the business, to keep the Global Privacy Office / DPO updated on progress daily, and escalating matters where concerns or issues arise;
Have a 'can do' attitude and enthusiasm that inspires others;
Well organised and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines;
Ability to work effectively and supportively within a global team;
Have working knowledge of Onetrust and DataGuidance; and
Willingness to receive training, mentoring and on-going support.
Qualifications:
University law degree or equivalent.
Fluency in English is required; fluency in German, French or Portuguese will be highly desirable.
