We are in the hunt for an experienced and savvy Data Engineer to join our dynamic team and ultimately help the company get the most out of our data!
 
• Work Remotely 
• Client: CEO Daniel Wang (Company: MSPbots) 
• Work Hours and Schedule: Semi-flexible, 3:00 am-12:00 pm CST (5:00 pm-4:00 am PHT), Fixed rest days (Sat-Sun) 
• Work Duration: Long-term 
• Starting compensation will be $6 per hour, with the potential for a raise with tenure 
  
Job Description:  
The Data Engineer is responsible for transforming data into a format that can be easily analyzed through developing, maintaining, and testing infrastructures for data generation. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals. The work hours and schedule for this post preferably would be from 3:00 am-12:00 pm CST (5:00 pm-2:00 am PHT), Monday to Friday. 
Key Responsibilities:  
Establish and maintain data pipeline, architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration 
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements 
Build the data infrastructure required by the data team for optimal ETL from a wide variety of data sources  
Responsible for building data models, ETL development, storage engineering, data warehousing, documentation, and other similar data management roles 
Work with multiple stakeholders from the Executive, Product, Data, CS, Back Office team to assist with data-related technical issues and to support their infrastructure needs  
Help main data security across national boundaries through multiple data centers if needed  
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems 
Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader 
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management 
Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities 
May design schemas, write SQL or other data markup scripting to help support the DA Team in other analytics projects and applications 
Job Requirements:  
3-5 years of experience in a Data Engineering role  
Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or other related courses  
Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.), relational SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres and Cassandra), data pipeline and workflow management tools (Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.), stream-processing systems (Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.), and object-oriented/object function scripting languages (Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.) 
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases  
Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets  
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement 
Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets 
Strong project management and organizational skills 
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment  
A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
