Primary Responsibilities:
Create, manage, and maintain library of data products and data pipelines to meet business requirements within provided technical designs, frameworks, and patterns
Build required processes for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources
Collaborate with and provide feedback to peers and junior data engineers
Troubleshoot existing data products and propose enhancements. Measure and improve dataset quality
Solve problems with solutions that are testable and maintainable, meeting code quality targets
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
Create data product documentation including robust data dictionaries and metadata tagging
Lead demonstrations of new features and share knowledge by presenting to larger team
Understand and follow the restrictions around use of PHI/PII data for analysis, research, development, and testing
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience SQL and Python, PySpark, and/or Scala familiarity
Analytic skills associated with working on large structured or unstructured datasets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build and optimize data sets, data pipelines, and architectures
Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with healthcare data or healthcare application development
Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS & GCP, Big Data processing platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery), orchestration tools (Airflow, Azure Data Factory) and data streaming platforms (Kafka, Flink, Event Hub)
