Designs data architecture and IT solutions to ensure data is stored properly, usable by business units, and protected from attacks. Accountabilities: Responsible for architectural design, issues and solutions considerations; apply industry best practices to create scalable and secure solutions that have superior technical performance. Designs systems to support flow of data through the organization Identifies database needs, develops blueprints based on user needs and logical design Solves for issues in data migration Integrates data views and follows architecture standards Some positive impact to specific organizational entitles Works together in a small team with a common purpose, follows rules from team members Identifies the needs of the database, the data that is available, and create a blueprint for creating, testing and maintaining the database Works with database administrators and data analysts to ensure they can easily use and access data Works with management to create databases that will be usable and store the information required Determines user needs and create solutions so that they can access data, create security plans and measures Understands logical design of how databases will link to each other and flow of data between stages Addresses issues with Data Migration (Validation, Clean-up and Mapping), and understand importance of Data Dictionaries Documents data interfaces and movement which includes frequency of movement, data transformations, and any aggregation or calculations Integrates views of data by working with business people and application designers to determine data requirements (i.e. availability, volumes) Defines data architecture standards and guidelines, and how to use the architected databases Helps ensure a focus on data quality, working closely with business people to determine its importance Job Description: Deep understanding of business strategy and ability to craft software/platform/infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes Evaluates and builds a network of third-party suppliers Data modelling for large-scale systems and familiarity with electronic data standards (ACORD or equivalent) Deep knowledge and experience in design and implementation of Enterprise Data Integration/Semantic/Information models patterns and frameworks 8+ years in big data technologies, data pipelines, analytics and security architecture Specific experience with Insurance and Asset Management a plus Strong systems implementation experience Strong business background; understanding of interaction between business and Global Technology Strategy Awareness of regulatory and compliance directives such as BCBS230, PIPEDA, GDPR Decision Authorities: Able to work with coaching and guidance Seeks to learn from others Not yet capable of tackling new problems by him/herself, needs support with problem solving Organizational problem solving ability Ability to solve for issues using data
