The Data Architect is responsible for the overall design and the approach to designing both the logical and the physical data architecture of the data warehouse and data lake. The data architect should have a broad understanding of data warehousing, ETL and Hadoop, and is responsible for providing technical leadership to the implementation teams. Key Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position will include but will not be limited to the following: Responsible for designing the logical data models. Responsible for creating the physical data models. Provides the optimization strategy for the existing data models. Reviews the deliverables to ensure completeness and correctness against the business requirement. Ensures that the physical design meets the standards set by the Data Architecture team. Works with other Data Architects in developing data solutions. Guides and provides inputs to the Solution Architects on the implementation of different BI solutions. Builds source system knowledge that can help determine the best source for a particular information Provides a source to target mapping for reports, extractions, and other analytical requirements.
