Department Summary:
The Legal Entity Controller (LEC) group is responsible for the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of financial statements.
Job Objectives:
Performs legal entity control functions which cover local regulatory and Head Office reporting and maintenance of the financial books/general ledger in compliance with both local and US GAAP requirements and LEC control standards. Provides accounting and regulatory advices to the Lines of Business (LOBs) as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities: * Handles regulatory reporting to comply with local regulators' requirements
Responsible for accurate and timely submission of other financials reports to the Head Office
Reviews the General Ledger to ensure accuracy and understands business drivers behind the trend variances
Preparation of annual financial statements and schedules including liaison with external auditors.
Provides support to the lines of business on any new business undertakings as well as understands the financial impact of those new business undertakings
6. Provides assistance in resolving any accounting and regulatory concerns
7. Keeps abreast with changes in internal corporate accounting policies and coordinates with relevant parties to ensure compliance
8. Keeps abreast with changes in local regulations, identifies impact, and works with relevant teams to ensure compliance
9. Leads and/or participates in system development projects and other control related projects
10. Identifies and executes process improvements and efficiency projects
Qualifications:
1. Accounting graduate
2. Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
3. Minimum 5 years experience in related position
4. Strong analytical, communication and management skills
5. Team-oriented and ability to work under pressure
6. Ability to learn new financial systems quickly
7. Strong orientation towards internal controls
8. Highly disciplined
