Job Description
The opportunity
The Credit Compliance Analyst is responsible for monitoring the compliance of our bond issuers with their reporting covenants and ensuring that financial documents are readily available to review, analyze, monitor and evaluate the credit. Additional responsibilities related to administration and monitoring of our reinsurance counter parties may be required. The role is in the mid-shift schedule (2PM to 11PM PHT time).
The role reports to Finance - GA Credit Analysis Manager and to the credit investment teams in the U.S. and Canada.
Role and Responsibilities
Monitor bond issuers reporting compliance through a periodic review of their financial disclosures
Maintain and update the credit files of all covered credits and the document tracking database
Liaise with bond issuers for missing reportorial documents
Keep up to date with Manulife's investment protocols
Discuss compliance findings and resolutions with investment teams
Participate in the development, documenting and updating of our compliance monitoring procedures
Support the administration and monitoring of our reinsurance counterparties as required
Perform any other job-related instructions, as requested, with reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related discipline
3+ years compliance monitoring experience in a financial institution or related companies
Basic understanding of investments
Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
Accuracy and keen attention to details
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Average to advance MS Office skills
Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines in a high-pressure work environment, with minimal or no supervision
Ability to quickly integrate with the job while ensuring a high-quality output
Flexible on shift and overtime may be required to meet business deadlines.
