Join us today as the Country Legal Head IMI Philippines where you will be responsible for providing strategic and proactive legal advice in (and for ensuring the legal sufficiency of) all the matters that are relevant to the Philippines, such as, for illustration, contracts (e.g. co-marketing, promotion, purchasing, in-licensing, consultancy, employment, etc.) intellectual property enforcement, litigation, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities
Map out the legal strategy for the local CPO in relation to operating model, business plans and business strategy, particularly, but not limited to the areas of Intellectual Property, BD&L, Contracts Management, Labor and Employment, Data Privacy, Anti-Competition, Litigation and other relevant legal areas.
Sits in the Country Executive Committee to provide strategic legal advice and guidance to the executive team across the divisions.
Monitor and influence legal developments; ensure that the business considers legal trends in the business strategy.
Represent Novartis Legal to outside stakeholders, in particular the government and industry associations.
Anticipate, identify, and analyze legal issues and develop legal strategy and solutions. Draft key documents and present clear recommendations ensuring legal compliance.
Draft all kinds of contracts, legal SOP and other related documents. Monitor Contract Management Procedure and maintain validity and enforcements.
Manage legal issues related to business development, alliance management, litigation, corporate governance and labor law.
Provide legal support in negotiations for agreements for Novartis Philippines, i.e. distribution agreements, licensing agreements, promotion agreements, etc
Minimum requirements
What you'll bring to the role:
Qualification/bar admission in Philippines is essential.
5 - 7 years of relevant experience in the legal function. Experience within the Pharmaceutical industry would be an added advantage.
Great attitude, proactive, solution-oriented and ability to manage stakeholders is essential.
Able to collaborate with the business and understanding the business needs.
Commercially savvy, ability to manage crisis and provides legal advice and viable solutions to legal related issues.
Strong communication skills, ability to break down complex matters / situations into simple explanation for easier understanding.
